Earlier, Sándor worked as a professor at the Department of Hungarian, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Yongin, South Korea (2008-2019), as an associate professor at the Department of Modern Hungarian Literature, University of Szeged, Szeged, Hungary (2003-2008), at the Department of Hungarian, Budapest Media Institute, Budapest, Hungary (2002-2006) and at the Comparative Literature Department, Attila József University, Szeged, Hungary (1989 – 2003).
He specialized in teaching conversation practice in Hungarian, Hungarian language, literature and culture, and literary theory, criticism and history. He conducted research in various fields such as Hungarian Studies, Hungarian as a foreign language, poststructuralist literary theory/deconstruction, modern and contemporary Hungarian literature and narratology.
