Summary of the Pre-Med Alumni activities in 2024:
- Collecting email addresses, contacting old students – continuous
- Meetings – in person in the office, via zoom – continuous
- Meetings with organizers of other Alumni networks /Semmelweis university
- Alumni Day – 20th March 2024 in Budapest at McDaniel College – Science Afternoon – lectures given by young doctors and university students – introducing research possibilities at the University.
- This year we proudly celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Pre-Med Program – Opening Ceremony of the New Academic Year in September
- Mentor meetings – autumn 2024
- Alumni Day – October 16th 2024 – our speakers from Semmelweis University and the University of Veterinary Medicine shared their experiences, challenges, and successes to inspire our present Pre-Med students. Introducing four new posters showing portraits of members of the alumni community.
- Researchers' Night – 21st November – Pre-Med students who achieved excellent results in the mid-term exams were invited to visit Semmelweis University, Faculty of Biochemistry - hosted by professor Christos Chinopoulos (Pre-Med Alumnus 1992), who showed students around the general labs, microscopy room, research facilities (RPPA), and animal house facilities.
- Online Lecture – 22nd November – In the series of the 35th anniversary programs a new project was launched with online lectures by members of the Alumni Community in different fields of Medicine. The first lecture was given by Tamunoinemi Disrael Bob-Manuel, MD, FACC, RPVI former Pre-Med student 2008; Semmelweis graduate 2014. Title of the lecture: Peripheral artery and Venous disease and contemporary treatment.
Info about the 2024-25 Academic Year of the Pre-Med:
- In September 2024 the new academic year started with over 300 students from 40 countries.
- The intensive program is starting on 2nd January 2025. Expected number of students is 90. For more information visit our website: www.medicalstudyhungary.com

- Invitation for those who graduated from Semmelweis University: International Alumni Meeting will take place in Budapest on May 17-18. You can register in here. During the event, the Pre-Med Alumni will also invite you back to our School Building to remember the old days. (More details later)
